In business as in life, sometimes it can be rewarding to pause and take stock of our current status and our long-term objectives. That’s certainly the theme of this year’s European Family Office Conference, which will be held from 1st to 2nd November in London, and which poses the question ‘The Family Office of 2017 – What is its Purpose?’.

The 19th edition of this event, which is presented by Campden Wealth, will seek to address how the family office has evolved as the world around it has changed, placing an emphasis on just how important setting objectives are in continuing to build a generational legacy.

The conference takes place in the midst of an uncertain political, social and economical era for Europe, and for this reason, it seems an important time for family office executives, principals and strategical experts to convene. By meeting, discussing and collaborating, family offices can help each other secure a positive future.

When we consider this year’s European Family Office Conference’s full title – ‘How To Evolve The Purpose Of Your Family Office for Greater Efficiencies, Returns & Longevity’ – it is clear that this is far more than simply an exercise of reflection. The conference aims to tackle some extremely pertinent issues and provide a forum for constructive dialogue which has the ability to shape the family office of the future.

According to the organisers, seminars and keynote speeches taking place at the European Family Office Conference will address specifically the following four questions:

  1. How family offices are responding to the global pressures of 2017
  2. The role a family office structure plays in securing a multi-generational future
  3. Responsibility and expectation of using wealth to do good
  4. Creating a lasting legacy through family unity and clarity of purpose

The event at the Merchant Taylors’ Hall in the City of London is expected to attract family office executives and experts from across Europe.

Speaking ahead of the event, Monaco’s Gérard Cohen, said: “The European Family Office Conference acts as a valuable platform for family offices to raise issues which affect the sector in 2017, and are critical to its long-term success. It provides an opportunity to take in thought leadership given by family offices from around the world. The speaker programme is typically second to none, and Campden Wealth should be applauded for the diligent organisation which contributes to the smooth running of the event.”
